Coimbatore: Tragedy struck 48 passengers of an ill-fated Kerala transport bus at Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu on Thursday, when the vehicle collided with a lorry head-on, leaving at least 20 dead and many injured and was reduced to a heap of metal in the impact. All the 20 were killed on the spot and six of the victims were women, police said. The crash happened at Avinashi town in Tiruppur, 40 km from Coimbatore.
